After installing SP1 to Configuration Manager 2012 the resulting ConfigMgrSetup.log file showed that the boot images were not upgraded:
The boot images should be at version: 6.2.9200.16384 but were still showing their old version of 6.1.7600.16385.
I originally looked at this blog post to try and fix the issue but it did not work for me.
In the end I deleted the boot images and re-created them from scratch by following this guide.
This put them at the right version number.
Some things I would note before going down the deletion\re-create route:
– Make a note of any customisations you have made to the original boot images, ie injected drivers, any pre-start commands etc as you’ll want to add these back to the newly created boot images.
– Once you have re-created the images, don’t forget to upload them to your distribution point.
– Remember to configure your existing task sequences to use the new boot image. (Right-click the task sequence -> Properties -> Advanced tab)
